To celebrate the launch of NoelGallagher.com Sour Mash asked Noel a few questions about his new site...

Sour Mash: After famously never using the internet you have finally given in and bought yourself an iPad. Now you're online what do you think of the internet and what do you find yourself using it for?
Noel: Yes I did, and to be quite honest I wished I'd never bothered. I only went into the Apple store for a nosey and within 20 mins they'd flogged me not 1 iPad but 2!!! I'm now forced to use words and terms I never even knew existed like 'Pop Up Server' and 'RAM' and fuckin' 'User' this, and 'Password' that. I've never had to come up with AND REMEMBER so many passwords! It's like some super spy shit in WW2, and who decided where to put all the bastard letters on the keypad? Nonsense. This internet malarky is unbelievable for music related stuff though. Which somewhat predictably is what I use it for most.

Sour Mash: For your new record you were involved with the design of the website. How did this come about and why did you want to get involved?
Noel: I was forced into it by my website people at my record label. I'm not an expert at that kind of thing. I do think it looks good though. I don't have a clue what it does though other than pass on information.

Sour Mash: For your record you are billed as Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, but your website is just NoelGallagher.com. Is there a difference between the two?
Noel: Nope. They're one and the same. NGHFB is the name of my current musical adventure. NG.com is well... an umbrella... ella... ella!!

Sour Mash: What do you think of artist websites? Are they just a way of announcing tours and record releases or should they do more?
Noel: I don't even have an opinion on that.

Sour Mash: 'Tales From The Middle Of Nowhere', your tour diary from the last Oasis tour, is probably one of the most well known and read artist blogs on the internet. Is there any chance you will do something similar this time round?
Noel: Probably.

Sour Mash: Fans on the website still talk about the web chat you did in 2005. You've not done one since. Fans would love the chance to ask you about your new album and solo career. Is there any chance you would do something like this again?
Noel: I think there are plans for me to web-speak to the digital massive. Not sure when though. Watch this space, I guess.
